why do we begin if we don’t plan to finish
why do we love if we don’t want to get hurt
why do we live if someday we must die
why do we smile if we really hurt inside
why do we frown when everything is upside down
why do we plan but not take to action
why do we cry when someday it will be alright
why do we get mad if we really should be glad
why do we morn when somebody is gone
why do we say hi if we really mean goodbye
why do we question what shouldn't be questioned
and answer what shouldn't be answered?
tell me now…why?
Irony: begin - finish, live - die, hi - goodbye;....
Antithesis: we begin if we don’t plan to finish; we love if we don’t want to get hurt; ... in all whole poem
Rhetorical question: each sentence is a question but it does need to answer
Repetition: Why do we; if.
Message: In our life, sometimes we must do something we don't like or we don't know why. We should be optimistic and live well.
Term 2: Two seeds
Two seeds lay side by side in the fertile soil.
The first seed said, "I want to grow! I want to send my roots deep into the soil beneath me, and thrust my sprouts through the earth's crust above me ... I want to unfurl my tender buds like banners to announce the arrival of spring ... I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the blessing of the morning dew on my petals!"
And so she grew...
The second seed said, "Hmmmm. If I send my roots into the ground below, I don't know what I will encounter in the dark. If I push my way through the hard soil above me I may damage my delicate sprouts ... what if I let my buds open and a snail tries to eat them? And if I were to open my blossoms, a small child may pull me from the ground. No, it is much better for me to wait until it is safe."
And so she waited...
A yard hen scratching around in the early spring ground for food found the waiting seed and promptly ate it.
Rhetorical devices:
Metonymy: seed want to grow = desirable people; seed doesn't want to grow = sustainer
Message:
Those of us who refuse to risk and grow up will be swallowed by life. It is when we all play safe that we creat a world utmost insecurity.
Term 3: Imagine

Rhetorical devices:
Metonymy: black keys = black labour; white keys = white labour
Message:
Listen, managers... if you want to get real race equality, use the black labour as well as white labour

i think these items are useful lesson, but in my opinion:
Trả lờiXóa-ITEM 1:antithesis (begin-finish, live-die, hi-goodbye,...)
parallerism:Why do we...
Message:in life, there are something happening which isn't like your expectation. However, accept them because they are two sides of life.
- ITEM 2:Metaphor
Growing seed: people who dare face to everything in life
Waiting seed: people who are afraid of challenges in life
Message:success is only for people who dare cope with challenges in life
-ITEM 3: metaphor (piano-industrial factories)(head musician-capitalist boss)
Trả lờiXóaMessage: discrimination between black labour and white labour still happens although capitalist bosses have tendency to deal with this problem
Thanks for your sharing! I have some suggestion for you, :D
Trả lờiXóaItem 1:
Message: Sometimes we can find the reason for what we do. Just do it if you feel it right.
Item 2:
Metaphor: The first seed: The optimistic person
The second seed: the pessimistic person
Message: Never wait for things happen. We need to be active and brave to face our problems.
Item 3:
Metaphor:
The spider webs on the black keys (the discrimination against the black labor)
The harmony (the American military strategy)
Message:
The American military strategy would become better if both the white and black labors were used in war industry)
I'm sorry, I've made a mistake. Sometimes we can't find..., not we can find...
