Item 1: Poem

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

Rhetorical devices:

• Repetition: a special world.
• Simile: fingers-fine spun gold, silken thread.
• Metaphor: a special world (one’s love and tolerance), bond ( tie), cocoon ( security), womb ( heart).

Message:

            The love and tolerance of human beings are very big, great and endless. It is like a flame which warms lonely or weak hearts.

Item 2: Poem

You hold the key to my heart

As we lie beneath the stars,
We wonder who we really are,
I wonder what you see in me,
We'll fall asleep beneath the trees.

Run your fingers through my hair,
Show me that you truly care,
Day by day, and night by night,
When I'm with you I have no fright.

The day you told you loved me,
That's when I gave you the key,
To my heart, soul and mind,
I'm glad to know that you're all mine.

I want it to last forever,
To know that we'll always be together,
Feel no pain or sadness dear,
I want you to always be near.

In every hug and every kiss,
When I'm with you I feel true love exists.
Hold me close and never let me go,
Don't let me fall amidst the shadow.

For I am yours, forever it may be,
I am yours for all eternity.
I mean it all; all I've said,
Without you, a part of me is dead.

Rhetorical devices:

• End-rhyme:

Message:

                Love is a very important part in this world, concurrently to love and to be loved is the only true happiness in our life. Therefore, everyone should treasure and develop it.

Item 3: Fable

A wolf in sheep’s clothing

Once upon a time, a Wolf resolved to disguise his appearance in order to secure food more easily. Encased in the skin of a sheep, he pastured with the flock deceiving the shepherd by his costume. In the evening he was shut up by the shepherd in the fold; the gate was closed, and the entrance made thoroughly secure. But the shepherd, returning to the fold during the night to obtain meat for the next day, mistakenly caught up the Wolf instead of a sheep, and killed him instantly.

Rhetorical devices:

-          Metaphor:

A Wolf (standing for a person who is evil, greedy, deceive; a ruling class), the shepherd( a person who is gentle, honest and kind-hearted, a ruled class) .

-          Symbol: A Wolf – evil, the shepherd - good

-          Climax :

But the shepherd, returning to the fold during the night to obtain meat for the next day, mistakenly caught up the Wolf instead of a sheep, and killed him instantly.

Message:

            Greed brings disaster and good always defeats evil.
