On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down hisburden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing andstraining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, henoticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. 1. in my opinion, in the third item the message may be "in our life if there is obtacle, do not ignore it but try to overcome it and we will gain achivement.

  2. I think in term 2 the message may be "The life is not a red rose.If you can overcome the difficulties you will get the success, like barren soil can blossom

  3. thanks for your entry.i like most the second item.it is really meaningful and interesting.however i would like to give u some my supports for your entry:
in item 3: i think the message is that no success is easy and sweet the most important is that u catch the opportunity ,try the best and encourage to get over.

  4. In your entry,I really like two items. They are item 2 and item 3.However,I have some comments about them.Firstly,in the item 2,from my point of view, there are two rhetorical devices.Beside metaphor you refered in the entry, there is also a paradox but not irony shown in the picture. It is the conflict between arid soil and beautiful flowers(between fierce life environment, difficulties, challenges and result, success).

  5. Secondly,in the item 3,my message is different from yours. In my opinion, the message of the story is that in the life there are many obstacles preventing you to succeed, you should find the right solutions to overcome but not neglect them.
Anyway, your entry is very interesting.I can learn some lessons from them.Thank you very much!

  6. Thanks for your entry!
In the first item, the picture is very impressive. However, I don't understand the message clearly. Can you explain it for me later?
I like the picture 2 the most.It is like motivation for me to overcome the difficulties. However, I agree with Thao that it is not irony. I think it can be overstatement. you can consider it.
