topic :Analyzing arguments
Analysis
I think surely that the statement of Mertens is a strong argument for this reason
It is a hasty generalization because in fact, there are lot of complicated language, we also can not only understand the basic knowledge but also use it professionally, so it is unreasonable to support that any language is difficult, it means we are not able to speak fluently.
Besides, i claim that obviously that in this article, learning Chinese seem as a fad .It appeal to popular.

i think you should analyse more clearly, because when i read your entry, i am a bit confused.if a argument has hasty generalization, this argument will be weak. however, you said the statement is a strong argument while it has a hasty generalization.
Trả lờiXóadear Nguyet,
Trả lờiXóaafter reading your entry, i have some thing to tell you.
firstly, i think you should pay a little bit more attention on the format of your work ^^
secondly, your expression makes me confused. i think your claim that "I think surely that the statement of Mertens is a strong argument for this reason" has contradicted to the way that you explain below. if the argument here made a mistake of hasty generalization, then it could definitely not be a strong argument.
besides, i think that the text you cited here are not adequate for readers to comprehend and decide whether the highlighted part is an argument or not. to my mind, i think it is not an argument. i think the principle has just mentioned his personal idea about studying of Chinese, and he has not intended to convince anyone ^^ (it's just my personal idea)
hope that you will be more careful and do it better next time
Hi, Nguyet. I have some suggestion for your entry.
Trả lờiXóaFirst, you should reread the definition of hasty generalization.I think his argument is not this type.
Second, you are analyzing the argument, not learning Chinese. Therefore, in my opinion, it is not appeal to popularity. If he said that many people learn Chinese nowadays, so his students will have to learn Chinese, then it is appeal to popularity.
However, I think you said "this is a strong argument" is just spelling mistake, isn't it?
I recognize your effort, but you need to be more careful!
Best,
dear Nguyet.
Trả lờiXóai have just read your entry but i don't sure i fully understand your analysis.you should point out argument's errors and explain it.
