Identifing bias
Item 1.
Cuối năm 1947, nhà tâm lý học da đen Mamie Clack đã tiến hành một nghiên cứu khá thú vị về biểu tượng xã hội ở trẻ em da đen Mỹ. Ông đã nghiên cứu trên số lượng lớn trẻ em da đen từ 3 đến 7 tuổi. Nội dung thực nghiệm của ông như sau: Ông đưa ra hai loại búp bê da trắng và da đen. Ông yêu cầu các em trả lời các câu hỏi: "Búp bê nào xấu nhất? Búp bê nào xinh nhất? Búp bê nào đáng yêu? Búp bê nào ngoan? Búp bê nào em chọn làm bạn? Búp bê nào màu đen?..." Kết quả thu được từ thực nghiệm này như sau: 90% số trẻ nhận dạng đúng màu của búp bê; Phần lớn số trẻ tham gia thực nghiệm đều thích chơi với búp bê màu trắng và cho rằng búp bê màu trắng tốt hơn búp bê màu đen, còn búp bê màu đen là xấu xí và độc ác; 2/3 trẻ em da đen bị các búp bê da trắng cuốn hút.
- Prejudice
- Analysis : the research showed a social prejudice existing in America that is consequence of the racial discrimination . According to research result, the black had a trend against themselves.

- Discrimination
- Analysis : The picture present s unfair treatment : in the same toilet or room the white people use modern luxurious sink while the worse one is for the colored one. There is a severe racial discrimination between the black and the white, the brown and the red.

Nỗi lo lắng của bà ngoại và mẹ cháu Mạnh đã được giải tỏa. Ông Thiều Văn Thắng, Phó Chủ tịch UBND xã Đông Tân, khẳng định: “Việc nhà trường tự ý đưa cháu đi xét nghiệm là sai với quy định của Luật phòng chống HIV, còn các phụ huynh học sinh làm đơn và đồng loạt ký tên không cho cháu Mạnh đi học là sai cả về lý lẫn về tình. Xã đã yêu cầu nhà trường phải đón nhận cháu Mạnh vào học. Các phụ huynh cũng nên đưa con em mình đến lớp đông đủ, trường hợp phụ huynh nào nhất quyết đưa con sang trường khác học, nhà trường có trách nhiệm báo cáo với xã để xã có biện pháp can thiệp”.
- Discrimination
- Analysis: Manh ,a six year old boy, whose parents get AIDS was refused to admitted to the local kindergarten and now he has to conduct the third medical test to be accepted to go to primary school. The parents whose children are studying at this school are afraid that Manh can infect their children with the disease while they are playing or contacting. Most of them violently opposed to his study although he has affirmed not to catch AIDS. Alll actions they did can be considered as discriminatory behaviours

Item 1: I thinks there is bias as assumption (Bias due to the failure in reflect the complexity of life)

Trả lờiXóaItem 1 &2: You should analyze more details to indicate that you really understand their type of bias. I don’t think it is prejudice in item 1. It should be Bias of assumption.
Item 3: It’s quite sufficient.
In addition, you should avoid choose the same type of bias in item2&3 though I know they are very interesting.

+, Item 3: I think the attitude of parents whose children are studying with Manh is scapegoating because they reject Manh out of school
i agree with hang.i see your best try in the entry, i also like ur items really interesting.However,in my point of view, you should pay more attention the item 1.i thinks it is assumption because in the the result of the research reflects limited knowledge of the authors.
